Beaded Lace How to Bead

You can decorate any clothing item with this lace. Choose beads of different types: big spacer beads and little beads for the strands. You can make the beadwork tighter if you decrease the number of beads in the loop, or extend it by increasing the size of the loops.

Step 1: You will need:
— a clasp
— thin nylon thread
— a needle
— violet seed beads 9/0
— red seed beads 8/0
— wine red seed beads 6/0
String the needle through the clasp, leaving a 4-6″ length of thread at the end.

Step 2: String the beads in the following order: one red, two violet, one red, four violet, one red bead, three violet.

Step 3: Pass the thread through the last red bead.

Step 4: String five violet beads.

Step 5: Pass the thread through the second red bead.

Step 6: String the beads in the following order: three violet, one red, two violet.

Step 7: Pass the thread through the third violet bead of the loop.

Step 8: String the beads in the following order: two violet, one red, two violet, one wine red.

Step 9: Pass the thread through the wine red bead, two violet beads and one red bead.

Step 10: Pick up five violet beads.

Step 11: Pass the thread through the red bead at the top edge.

Step 12: String the beads in the following order: three violet, one red, two violet.

Step 13: Pass the thread through the third violet bead of the loop.

Step 14: String the beads in the following order: two violet, one red bead, three violet.

Step 15: Pass the thread through the red bead.

Step 16: Pick up five violet beads.

Step 17: Pass the thread through the red bead at the top edge.

Step 18: Pick up three violet beads.

Step 19: Continue to make until the lace has necessary length. Pass the thread through the second part of the clasp.

Step 20: Pass the thread through all the beads of the top row.

Step 21: Tie a knot to secure the pattern. Cut the excess threads.

Step 22: The lace is complete!
